As of 1/5/09 Congress has signed an extention on the Home Buyers Tax Credit. This credit has been broadened to include current Homeowners.
In short this credit, $8000.00 for First time Home Buyers, $6500.00 for Current Homeowners, can be used toward down payment, closing costs, home improvement, or just cash in hand for the buyer.
This incentive was designed to level the playing field in a market where the investors are buying up the deals.
